How to search for vehicles ! 

If you want to browse through the website or look at the parts for sale, you do not have to register.
Just click on the BUY-button or use one of the search menus on the left hand side (yellow) menu.

Also you could use the “see all gallery ads” button to start viewing all parts in the gallery.
Once a list of parts on your screen (after any performed search), you can click on the picture of the part, to view the specific detail page of that particular part.
At the bottom of the page, you will find the name of the seller, his phone number and his email address, so you can contact him/her if you have any further questions, or would like to buy the vehicle. Please do note that American Parts Net does not get any fee on the sale itself, any transaction is between you and the seller.

How to sell your vehicle ! 

1/ register 
Before you can post your parts on our website, you must register.(This will take you about 2 minutes)

click “register” in the left hand menu.This will take you to the register page.
Choose and type in a Username and a password.
(write these down, so that you can log in later)
Now complete all fields… your first name, last name, your address, postal code, city, country, language, your phone number (as you would dial it from within your own country) and finally your email address.

If you are a legall company, please DO put in your company name and VAT registration number.

Next choose whether you want to receive occasional e-mailings from American Parts Net or not …
and whether you want to receive any other “American car related” e-mailings or not.
(Please note that you personal data (name, address, phone, email, etc.etc…) will never ever be handed out to anybody !

Next choose which of our 3 sites you are interested in and might want to use...

We absolutely respect your privacy !)

Next click ”REGISTER”

there… that’s  it !  You are registered !

Automatically you will be taken back to the main screen, however note that this
time you will see… “welcome back” and to the right your “username”
This is to confirm you are registered and signed in !
Also note that the left hand menu has changed, showing 4 extra options…

 2/ How to put your part online 

Everyone who is registered can post 5 parts, with 1 photo per part... for free !
Hereunder you will find a step by step guide on how to do this !

Click on “My Account”
This will take you to the ‘My Account’ page, where you can either post or edit parts for sale…
As long as you have not posted any vehicles, you will see five lines showing part 1 to part 5, and at the right hand side of this “post new”
Click on “post new”
(if this is your first part, click on 'post new' next to part 1, or click on the next available one… (being 2, 3, 4 or 5)

Doing so will take you to a page where you have to input information about your part …
-Select the type of vehicle your part is for from the dropdown menu
-Select the(part) category from the dropdown menu
-Fill in the selling price (as we are a European site, we use EURO as it is the mst common currentcy within Europe)
-Type in a title for your ad (max 30 character)
This title will be visual along with the most important car information after a search (if your part is in the resulting list)
Use strong keywords, no sentences !

Next is the: FULL PART DESCRIPTION
Here you can tell potential buyers anything about your part for sale! (max 4000 characters)
Provide any relevant information, tell as much as you can about your part, what is good, what is not so good… for which vehicle it can be used...
You might also consider putting in an alternative selling price (e.g. selling price in British Pounds or local currency...

It’s best to use sentences here, so that the information reads easily.
TIP ! You could also write in multiple languages...

(Please note that all the above fields (except for VIN) are mandatory and have to be filled in !)

Of course ... now you want to ad a photo of your part…
Ads with photo  draw more attention.. so do post a photo !

(If you are familiar with editting photo's on a computer... here is some valid information: Photos on www.american-parts-net.com are shown at a maximum width of 500 pixels.
Should you have photo editting software, please crop or resize your photos to a width of 500 pixels and optimize (contrast, color, sharpen, file-size) them for web use ! (thanks))

Now to put your photo online..
Click on  “BROWSE”
This opens up a standard computer window, which you can use to look up the picture file of your part on your personal computer.
Once the file located, select it and confirm your choice.
(note that the file-path and filename show in the bottom white field)

NOW CLICK on the "SUBMIT PART" button...
This will “UPLOAD”, both your part and your picture of it.
(depending on the file size and your internet connection speed this may take a while).

THAT’S IT ... your part is online

 

At any time you can ‘sign in’ again.. go back to ‘MY ACCOUNT’ and edit data of any of
your parts or erase your ad, or erase/post a new photo.
Also, once a part is sold you should come back to this page to “erase” the part from our database.
